Everyday I get a text message from someone in our church. Here’s one of them…
“Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”
Psalms 141:2-3 KJV
Oh how sweet our words can be to God. Our prayers can be like sweet incense that rises before Him. At the same token however if we delve into corrupt communication the smell is not so sweet. Words matter! Our worship is wonderful and pleasing but our cursing is dreadful and distasteful not only to a civilized society but in the ears of God for your words are never idle they all make their way to His ears. So the prayer becomes set a watch, a guard before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips! May my words be ever pleasing to God. May yours as well.
